Rohingyas coming from Myanmar will be rehabilitated in Vasanchar of Hatia upazila of Noakhali. For this, Ashrayan-3 project of Taka 312 crore has been taken. Navy will implement this project. Beginning in July 2017 and ending in November 2019. Without the foreign assistance, the project will be implemented with complete national funding.
This project was approved today by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the Ecnec meeting held at the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. After the ECNEC meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told reporters that in the meeting, the Prime Minister gave the rule that after the return of Rohingya people to their country, landless people should be rehabilitated.
The project proposes that one hundred thousand Rohingya will be resettled in Bhasanchar. 120 clusters will be built to accommodate 1,03,200 people. Apart from this, all the infrastructure will be built inside the vasanacharra, including roads, sanitary latrines and tube wells.
Today's ECNEC meeting approved 10 projects including this project. The total cost will be 10 thousand 99 crore taka. Projects will be implemented in the sense of the country. Other projects approved by ECN are the development of rural infrastructure, development of rural infrastructure in Madaripur, Shariatpur and Rajbari districts, important rural infrastructure development in Barisal, Jhalokati and Pirojpur districts, important rural infrastructure development in Sirajganj district, important rural infrastructure development (2nd phase) , Small irrigation development in Noakhali, Feni and Laxmipur districts; Construction of multi-storied residential flats (2nd phase) for Government officials and employees in the Government Colony, Construction of 288 residential flats for government officials-employees (Public Works and Architectural Department) in Jigatala, Dhaka; Construction of multi-storied residential buildings at Government Colony (Hospital Zone Store Compound) in Motijheel, Dhaka , Construction of the governing railway overpass at Comilla town, Sherpur (Akherbazar) - Langarp Motion-sribardi (mamadamari) road widening and strengthening, higher stipends and the country's cultural complex project of establishing the Institute.
